Former President Donald Trump on Thursday held a rally in the traditionally Democratic-leaning Bronx in which he vowed to revitalize the American economy.

Taking place in Cratona Park, the rally occurred amid Trump’s ongoing criminal trial in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s hush money case. During the event, Trump touted his economic record and sought to appeal to black and Hispanic Americans.

“Everybody was better off under a man named Donald J. Trump have you heard of him?” he said. “We had a record low poverty rate for black Americans and Hispanic Americans.”

“On day one, we’re gonna throw up Bidenomics. We’re gonna replace it with ‘Maganomics’!” he declared. “I will give you low taxes, low inflation, low interest rates, rising wages, growing incomes, and fair trade for the American worker and we will make energy affordable again by saying ‘drill baby drill.'”

Trump also reiterated his story of securing the support of Mexican military personnel to help secure the border while negotiating with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

He further reiterated his foreign policy successes and highlighted his minimal military intervention.

“We had no wars, none of these stupid wars,” he said.

On the matter of Iran, Trump reiterated his prior opposition to the Iraq War, contending that the American intervention had resulted in the country becoming a “subsidiary” of the Iranian regime.

“Congratulations to the geniuses that got us into that mess,” he quipped.

Later in the rally, Trump vowed to clear out the homeless camps in major cities and to restore metal institutions.
